I haven’t the foggiest idea!
When you chant a mantra, you create vibrations in your body that potently affect your mind and emotions. In addition, the repetition of the sounds helps to still the mind and bring a sense of deep inner peace.
We will create our own Mantras based on anything meaningful to you. Just make sure that the words or sounds aren’t negative.
Why am I using the word Mantra well after some careful thought and a few cappuccinos later I realized the real issue is that most of us are quite shy, I don’t mean in public I mean alone, all alone when its best to practice your Affirmations/Mantras the problem here is that 99% of participants are very shy and muted in their emotions. Many affirmations are spoken or simply mumbled without any emotion desire or energy.
I’m using the word Mantra as I want a restart I rethinking and a return to this ancient of ancient practices imagine you are in a room with a list of positive mantras/affirmations. I want you to firstly anchor the emotion let’s take ecstasy I want you to become ecstatic about your MANTRAS What I mean is if someone was to talk into your room where you are “meditating” your mantras they would think you were having an epileptic fit. I want to you scream and holler, I don’t want you to touch your wrist to set an anchor I want you to slap your wrist till its red and raw, I want the mantra to bury itself deep into your psyche. I want that mantra to resonate throughout your body.
The Vagus Nerve and Mantras
The vagus nerve starts in your brain stem and runs through your neck and chest to your abdomen. It is sometimes called the “wandering nerve” because it wanders through your body’s organs. The vagus nerve is vital for many functions, including heart rate, digestion, and immunity.
It is also the main nerve involved in your relaxation response. The relaxation response lowers your heart rate, blood pressure, and breathing rate – the opposite to the stress response. So when you chant a mantra, it activates your vagus nerve and triggers the relaxation response.
Mantras and Your Brain
Chanting a mantra also has powerful effects on your brain. Studies have shown that it can increase alpha waves associated with relaxation and mindfulness. Mantra meditation has also been shown to increase levels of GABA, a neurotransmitter that helps calm the nervous system. Therefore, mantra meditation is effective in reducing stress and anxiety.
How to Write Your Own Mantras
If you don’t want to use the ancient mantras, you can create your own based on anything meaningful to you. The important thing is that the words or sounds you choose are positive and uplifting.
Here are some examples:
I am safe.
I am loved.
I am worthy.
I am strong.
I am hung like a donkey and can keep at it like a raging racing rampant mo’ fuckin’ rabbit.
You can also use affirmations, such as:
I am healthy and happy.
I accept myself exactly as I am.
I am worthy of love and respect.
I am surrounded by the ones who love and support me.
I am abundant, my life is full of Sex drugs and rock and roll baby..
Choose whichever words or sounds resonate with you. The key is that you feel positive and uplifted when you say them.
So no more trying either do or don’t
When to Chant Your Mantra
You can chant your mantra anytime, anywhere. It is best to do it when you are feeling calm and relaxed. However, you can also chant it while doing other things, such as walking, cooking, or driving. Of course, don’t close your eyes and lose focus while driving or walking. I prefer to do cardio when I’m at the gym, however when I need that extra juice I go to a quiet room blast some music and start screaming my mantras.
I know this isn’t in any ancient religious manuscript I know I’ve checked but try to get the mantra to vibrate in line with the breathing and the heart, I found this difficult at first but then realized if you tie your breathing to your mantra for example as you inhale you say Rampant with your chest filling with air and as you exhale you release Rabbit and empty your chest and lungs as best as you can really exaggerate the chest expanding and contracting to begin with, (I still do, there are other techniques that I can write about but these are best done in person) and continue to do this for say 30 seconds and then build this practice up by another 30 seconds until you reach roughly 3 minutes, you can set a timer and soon you will see your voice, body and mind start to work in unison Rampant Rabbit, Rampant Rabbit,
The important thing is to be consistent with your practice. You have to chant daily, you simply have to, there is so much negativity out there that if you miss this practice you’ll get sucked into the negativity.
So no more trying either do or don’t. Try to chant your mantra every day if possible. The more you practice using mantras, the more benefit you will receive. Mantra meditation is effective at reducing stress and anxiety and more importantly building a neural pathway to your sub conscious.
